The Thing about MYNA

I was excitedly telling my friends about the upcoming MYNA spring camp and all my positive experiences there. But they were skeptical, and I don’t blame them because I was hesitant at my first camp too. They thought it would be like any old boring and strict Muslim camp. But MYNA camps are far from that. I attended my first MYNA camp as a troubled and burdened young teen. I arrived with a heavy heart, but as the days wore on, the new friends I made, the activities, and the educational lectures from renowned Shyukh unburdened my heart. They’re not just some Muslim camps that teach Muslim teenagers about Islam. They’re not those camps that are  so out of the way, and no one would attend them. And they’re definitely not something scraped together by a bunch of brainless teenagers. MYNA was there for me when I had doubts about my religion. MYNA was there for me when I lost a loved one. MYNA was there for me when I was down. MYNA helped me and gave me advice that I would pay hundreds for elsewhere.Myna transformed my life in ways I couldn’t imagine. Being in high school, I was faced with many challenges. I felt like it was an extremely difficult environment for me to thrive in. Going to Myna brought me closer to my deen and I found out that there are youth around the world experiencing these same feelings. We bonded for the sake of Allah, and those same people are now amongst my best friends. Myna not only became a safe space foe me to comfortably be myself, but also helped me gain leadership and confidence in my deen. And MYNA can do that for you too
